    Kubota RTV-900 stopping too aggressively

We have a small fleet (five) of RTV-900s in our plant. All of them have a very harsh stop characteristic, whereas when the driver lets off the gas, the transmission acts like it is shunting pressure into reverse (or into an accumulator). The end result is everyone in the vehicle is nearly thrown through the windshield. Brakes are never needed because of this "feature".

Is there an adjustment that can be made (detent valve?) to tone this action down?

    Thanks in advance,

    Bob

Re: Kubota RTV-900 stopping too aggressively

All RTV's have the dynamic breaking feature. Typicaly people get used to it and come to really like it, however it can be really shocking to new operators who are not prepared for it. Kubota has tweaked the damper that returns the pedal to nutural. If you have an older unit the damper can be replaced to give more cushion. Beyond this there is a "coast valve" that allows the breaking pressure to bypass so it behaves much more like a CVT based transmission. Its not a Kubota part, so it can void your transmission warrenty.
